An opportunity for residents with disabilities to discover and explore how to get involved with city government.
Boston's disability community is invited to learn how to get involved with city government during the Boston's Disabilities Commission annual Civic Engagement Day. This year there will be two sessions! Please join us for the morning or evening session, or both!
MORNING SESSION: 10am-12noon
This is a time to meet City of Boston neighborhood liaisons, city council staff, and other city officials. In this session there will be opportunities to register to vote, learn more about accessible voting options, visit information tables to learn how to participate in City of Boston hearings, meetings, boards and commissions. Youth focused opportunities will be highlighted at this event. Youth and young adults are encouraged to participate in the morning session! Please join us to discover the many ways you can report and follow up on local disability and inclusion issues in your city! Light refreshments will be available.
EVENING OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT: 5:30-7:30pm
This is a time to meet the City of Boston Disabilities Commission Advisory Board and hear from City of Boston leaders during a short speaking program. Information tables will be available to visit throughout the event for attendees to learn more about City of Boston departments and initiatives. Attend to network with neighbors, City leaders, and others working to make the City of Boston accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities. Light refreshments will be available.
Both sessions will be held on the 5th floor of Boston City Hall.
