Led by a team of passionate individuals, we develop culturally competent programming and policy initiatives that reflect the diversity of our city.

Our mission is to promote cultural diversity, inclusion, and community engagement. We believe that by embracing and celebrating our differences, we can create a stronger, more vibrant community where everyone feels valued and respected.

what we do
  • Lead the Cultural Advisor Program: Our team of Cultural Advisors plays a crucial role in implementing our mission. From managing day-to-day operations to identifying funding sources and partnerships, our advisors are dedicated to ensuring the success of our cultural initiatives.
  • Spearhead Culturally Responsive Programming: We develop and implement culturally competent programming aimed at fostering a sense of belonging among diverse cultural communities. By collaborating with internal staff, community leaders, and cultural organizations, we curate events and provide resources for our constituents.
  • Inform Policy Change: We work closely with cross-functional teams to advocate for policies that address the unique needs and challenges of various cultural communities. By monitoring progress and tracking results, we ensure that our policies are responsive to the needs of our constituents.

Community Building Mini-Grants

Boston-based community organizations are invited to join the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs by hosting a community-building event. The goal is to welcome the general public to build connections with Boston’s vibrant cultures and communities.
