Representation

Ensuring every woman — across race, ethnicity, ability, age, gender identity, and immigration status — is seen, heard, and valued in Boston’s public life.

Boston’s future is shaped by the perspectives at every decision-making table. Yet too many seats remain empty of women’s voices, especially those from historically marginalized communities. Closing that gap is essential to delivering policies and programs that truly serve everyone.

Girls Mentorship

Championing girls’ mentorship isn’t a single program—it’s woven through everything the Mayor’s Office of Women’s Advancement does. Whenever we design an initiative, host an event, or advocate for policy, we ask: How will this create pathways for girls to learn from, connect with, and be inspired by women who look like them?
