Veterans Services penpals and buddies

The goal of our program is to pair people or families (buddies) with local veterans.

The Office of Veteran Services will provide the buddy with the name, branch of service and, in some cases, the wartime era that the local veteran served in. It's a great way to form life-long bonds with our nation's greatest treasures: our veterans.

Veterans seeking penpals, buddies, or help

Are you a veteran or know of a veteran who would like to take part in our program? Please complete the registration below. We pair veterans with an individual or a family (buddies). Buddies receive the veteran's name, branch of service, and — if applicable  the veteran's wartime service. They prepare introductory material that is forwarded to us, and we forward that information to the veteran. If a veteran wishes to contact the buddy, they are encouraged to do so, but there is no obligation.
