PUBLIC WORKS PERMITS
If you need a permit to take up public space or dig up public roadways, you need to go through the Permit Division of Public Works. Speed Humps And Street Safety
FIND OUT IF MY STREET IS GETTING SPEED HUMPS
You can find out if your street will be getting speed humps by entering your street name into our interactive map. It will show you if your street will be getting speed humps prior to 2026, is eligible for speed humps but does not yet have a timeline, or if it is ineligible for speed humps due to being an emergency passage or a non-city road.
We prioritize each phase based on the data available. We will continue to scale up our capacity as quickly as possible. Over the coming years, we will be bringing speed humps to nearly 400 miles of City streets, and it will take time to get this work done. We will continue to work to slow traffic and offer safety interventions across the City of Boston.
