Harrison Avenue Safety Improvements

We are working with Chinatown residents to make streets feel safer for people of all ages who walk, play, and live along Harrison Avenue between Essex Street to Herald Street

We are working on improvements that aim to slow driving speeds, improve safety at intersections, and enhance the public realm along Harrison Avenue in Chinatown:

  • bike facilities on Harrison Avenue between Essex and Herald
  • Lead Pedestrian Interval (LPI) signal timing at Harrison and Oak
  • a lively public space in Phillips Square
  • raised crosswalks at Harrison/Harvard and Harrison/Bennet as part of the Chinatown Neighborhood Slow Streets project
