Boston Complete Streets
Boston Complete Streets provides policy and design guidance. We want to ensure that Boston’s streets are green, smart, and safe for users of every mode of transportation.
The Boston Complete Streets initiative aims to improve the quality of life in Boston. We hope to do this by creating streets that are both great places to live and sustainable transit networks.
You can find out more about Boston’s Complete Streets below. We have the full report, individual chapters, and key graphics.
About the initiative
Our approach places pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit users on equal footing with motor vehicle users. We embrace innovative designs and technologies to address climate change and promote healthy communities.
Our guidelines are the product of a process involving:
- the public at large
- community leaders
- transportation advocates
- policy makers, and
- multiple City departments.
