Housing with Public Assets Study

Boston Centers for Youth & Families, the Public Facilities Department, the Mayor's Office of Housing, and Boston Public Schools are studying the feasibility of adding housing with a new community center and possibly an elementary school at the Jackson Mann School site in Allston-Brighton. The study tests a range of community center sizes based on the previously completed programming and siting study, as well as a mix of affordable and market-rate housing. View the final study report below.

Housing and Programming Study

From 2022 to 2023, the City of Boston engaged Utile Inc. to work with Boston Centers for Youth and Families (BCYF) to study siting options and programming needs for a new BCYF Center in Allston-Brighton.

The study included a public engagement process that gathered public feedback on existing centers, programming goals, and potential sites. The engagement process involved two in-person and two virtual community meetings, polls, question-and-answer sessions, and an online survey that stayed live the entire length of the study.
