Mayor's Cup Soccer Tournament and Festival

This year, as part of Let's Play Boston, the Parks and Recreation Department is expanding the Mayor’s Cup Soccer Tournament to include a Youth Soccer Festival.

Location: Moakley Park

Tournament: Games scheduled on November 9 and 10

Opening Ceremony: November 9, from 11 - 11:30 a.m. at Saunders Stadium

Festival: November 9, from 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Festival Details

The festival will take place on November 9th from 11:30-3.  It will include:

  • A Soccer Jamboree hosted by Soccer Without Borders for any youth who wants to join. (Details and signup below). 
  • Coaching training sessions for current and prospective soccer coaches. (Details and signup below). 
  • A Kids and Family Zone with soccer games for young ones run by the North End Athletic Association, mascots, face painting, balloon animals and food trucks.
  • A Bike Town with family-friendly bike activities for kids ages 5-12. Come with your child to learn how to ride a bike, how to teach a child how to ride a bike, and practice on-bike skills! There will be a variety of fun games and activities to practice road safety at a child's scale. Kids bicycles and helmets will be provided. ​​​​​​

Time: Three hour long sessions starting at 11:45, 12:45, and 1:45

Format: The Jamboree will be organized as a Dutch-style tournament: a small-sided competition where teams are randomized each game. Games last for six to eight minutes. For each goal that is scored and for a team win, each player on the team gets points. Points are recorded after each game.

Time: Three 45 minute sessions starting at 12:00, 1:00, and 2:00.

Details: These three educational opportunities are meant to empower coaches in Boston with the tools and knowledge to create a positive, inclusive soccer experience for all players. You can sign up for one or all of the session and are not required to have a team playing in the tournament to participate. Prospective coaches and high school students are encouraged to attend as well.

Details: Join CP Soccer New England, New England Revolution Amputee Soccer and Adaptive Sports New England for an inclusive adaptive soccer clinic. Disabilities Served: Blind/visually impaired, Cerebral palsy/stroke, Dwarfism, Limb difference, Traumatic brain injury.
