Improvements to John J. Ryan Playground

Demolition is underway at Ryan Playground, and the site is being prepared for the first phase of building the berm - a critical piece of infrastructure designed to protect the park and Charlestown from sea level rise.

Our contractor is busy preparing the site for the micropiles and ground improvements that will support the structure of the berm along the Mystic edge. We will be posting construction updates below on a monthly basis.
