Field Improvements to Murphy Playground

Murphy Playground, including the sports fields, the perimeter pedestrian pathways, the sports lighting, and the bleachers are in need of an update. Some of the fencing has become overgrown with vegetation. The walkways and seating are currently difficult to navigate in a wheelchair. The grass fields have depressions that can be hazardous for players and weeds popping up throughout.
The Field Improvements at Murphy Playground will include renovations to improve the condition of the grass fields, new pathways, new sports lighting (with less light leakage), new seating, and repairs to the existing chain link fence and netting. The Improvements aim to make the overall park more ADA Accessible. If the construction budget allows, the Improvements will also include repairs to the existing concrete bleachers.
