White Stadium Supplier Diversity Initiative
The City of Boston and Boston Legacy Football Club are committed to ensuring the adequate participation of local, diverse, small businesses on this transformative project
After many decades of discussion without action, White Stadium is finally receiving the investment it needs to become a state-of-the-art sports facility with dramatically expanded public access for Boston Public Schools students and local residents thanks to a public-private partnership with Boston Legacy Football Club (BLFC). This transformation revitalizes a historic space and ensures that more Bostonians can enjoy high-quality athletic facilities year-round, all while also welcoming a new professional women’s soccer team to the city for up to 20 game days annually.
This effort begins with ensuring diverse participation in the renovation and operation of the facility. That's why the City of Boston and Boston Legacy Football Club have committed to awarding 50% of all contracting dollars across all three phases of the White Stadium Renovation Project to certified Minority-and Women-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs).
Current Phase
The White Stadium Renovation Project will take place across three phases -- design, construction, and operations. The Design Phase ended in early 2025. The Construction Phase will continue through summer 2026.
Supplier Diversity Dashboard
about the dashboard
The Departments of Supplier Diversity, Public Facilities, and Procurement developed a dashboard to provide additional transparency on efforts to achieve the stated goal of awarding 50% of contracts to M/WBEs. The dashboard measures the percentage (%) and subcontract dollar value ($) awarded to M/WBEs certified with the Department of Supplier Diversity (DSD) or the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office (SDO). Learn more about how to certify your business here.
using the dashboard
The dashboard shows all upcoming subcontract opportunities for the White Stadium Renovation Project. Here are some things to consider while viewing it:
- Page 1
- Click on the "owner" sections to toggle between the subcontracts awarded by the City and BLFC.
- Hover over the "i" icons to view additional information and data definitions.
- NOTE: This is one project being managed by two teams. Contracts awarded by the City are subject to state law regulating the procurement of services on public projects. BLFC is not subject to the same constraints, which allows them to award contracts without public procurement law constraints and award to diverse firms that are not certified by either DSD or SDO. We count all of these contracts in the "Subcontracts Awarded" section.
