Zoning Board of Appeal Chair

Sherry is the daughter of immigrants, who grew up in New York City’s Chinatown.  She is passionate about giving back to the community, professionally and personally. She has over twenty-five years of community, health, and government experience, and has been an advocate for immigrant and BIPOC communities since she was a college student, working part-time at Greater Boston Legal Services, providing support on matters including housing, employment, domestic violence, benefits and immigration. Her career has spanned civil rights, constituent services, employment, housing and economic development, and community health.

Sherry joined Tufts Medical Center in 2002, overseeing community benefits reporting and

program development and implementation, building community partnerships and programs to promote the physical, social and emotional health and strengthening community engagement in the communities in which we reside and serve. Prior to that she worked in state and local government, at the Attorney General’s Office, Civil Rights Division, focusing on disability rights, in the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services, Office of Human Resources, and the Boston Redevelopment Authority (now BPDA). Her commitments to the community extend to her civic engagement, serving on various boards and commissions.
