Hessann Farooqi is the Executive Director of the Boston Climate Action Network (BCAN), where he leads operations, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. He co-coordinates the Boston Green New Deal Coalition and serves on the Green Justice Coalition Steering Committee. He has advised the Metropolitan Area Planning Council’s Justice 40 Advisory Group and contributed to the White House's Opportunity Project Sprint. 

Hessann studied economics at Boston University, earning Dean’s List honors and engaging in extensive student leadership. He has political experience from organizing campaigns for various offices and serving in a US Senate office. His commitment to environmental justice was inspired by childhood visits to Pakistan, where he saw the impacts of environmental injustice.

In his free time, Hessann enjoys rock climbing, exploring Boston's restaurant scene, and watching Star Wars movies.
