Heat Emergency in Boston

Mayor Wu announced a heat emergency in the City of Boston through Wednesday, July 17. Cooling centers will be open at 14 BCYF community centers Monday through Wednesday, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Brooks Winner

Building Decarbonization Program Manager

Brooks helps Bostonians decarbonize their buildings. He manages Boston’s efforts to support building owners in retrofitting their properties, delivering benefits to owners, tenants, and occupants. His work focuses especially on serving under-resourced building owners and buildings in environmental justice neighborhoods.

Brooks represents Massachusetts cities and towns on the statewide Energy Efficiency Advisory Council and is a co-chair of the council's Equity Working Group. Brooks is also a Steward for the Network for Energy, Water, and Health in Affordable Buildings (NEWHAB).

Before joining the City, Brooks worked at the Metropolitan Area Planning Council as a Senior Clean Energy Specialist. His work at MAPC supported clean energy and climate action across the Greater Boston region. Brooks holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Spanish from Bowdoin College. He is a big soccer fan and loves spending time in nature.
