USACE Past Events

This virtual meeting held March 26, 2026, provided an overview of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and National Historic Preservation Act (Section 106) permit process for the Boston CSRM project. The USACE team shared key information about the resource assessment for each Boston CSRM project alternative. Resources introduced: environmental, cultural, historical, and socioeconomic. The meeting covered all neighborhoods within the Boston CSRM scope, including Charlestown, Dorchester, East Boston, South Boston, and the North End/Downtown/Wharf District. 

This virtual meeting, held February 25, 2026, reviewed progress on the Boston CSRM project, including a recap of community engagement in 2025 and an overview of how engagement will continue in 2026. The meeting covered all neighborhoods within the Boston CSRM scope, including Charlestown, Dorchester, East Boston, South Boston, and the North End/Downtown/Wharf District.  

This virtual meeting, held December 10, 2025, is for Downtown, North End, and Wharf District communities to review an overview of the coastal flood risk, structural and non-structural toolkit, and preliminary draft locations for structural tools proposed by the US Army Corps Team.

This virtual meeting, held October 15, 2025, is for the South Boston community to review an overview of the coastal flood risk, structural and non-structural toolkit, and preliminary draft locations for structural tools proposed by the US Army Corps Team.

This virtual meeting, held September 30, 2025, is for the East Boston community to review an overview of the coastal flood risk, structural and non-structural toolkit, and preliminary draft locations for structural tools proposed by the US Army Corps Team. The Zoom recording is available in English, but presentation slides are available in English and Spanish.

This virtual meeting, held June 17, 2025, is for the Dorchester community to review an overview of the coastal flood risk, structural and non-structural toolkit, and preliminary draft locations for structural tools proposed by the US Army Corps Team. The Zoom recording is available in English, but presentation slides are available in Cabo Verdean Creole, English, Haitian Creole, Spanish, and Vietnamese. 

Held on Zoom on May 20, 2025, this virtual update for the Charlestown community to review an overview of the coastal flood risk, structural and non-structural toolkit, and preliminary draft locations for structural tools proposed by the US Army Corps Team. 

Held during Year 2 of the study, these December 2024 information sessions provided an overview of the work of the US Army Corps and USACE CSRM study process work to date. Information shared included initial results from the USACE Flood Mapping tool,  Coastal Hazard System (CHS) and updates on the schedule and future community engagement touchpoints to come. There were three virtual information sessions held, all with the same information:

• December 10, 2024,
• December 12, 2024, and
• December 14, 2024. 

This meeting provided an introduction of the US Army Corps and City of Boston partnership to perform a Coastal Storm Risk Management Feasibility Study for the 47-miles of Boston coastline, and a look back at the work that was completed as part of the first partnership year.
