Samelly Alejo

Administrative Assistant

Samelly Alejo (she/her/hers) is the Administrative Assistant for the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture (MOAC).

With nearly seven years of experience in the nonprofit sector and administration, she previously served as a Special Project Manager at the Office of the Governor of Massachusetts. Samelly lives in the Roxbury/Jamaica Plain area of Boston, where she has dedicated herself to promoting diversity and inclusion in women’s sports and workplaces. She is also the founding member of the women’s softball program at The BASE and has actively supported her community through her involvement with various local nonprofits.

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Samelly is currently completing her BA in Psychology at New England College, with aspirations to work in the psychology field as a forensic psychologist.

In addition to her work in nonprofit and public services, Samelly is a photographer who enjoys documenting and sharing the efforts of NGOs in the aftermath of natural disasters worldwide.

When she’s not behind the camera or working on her computer, you might find her traveling, reviewing food, volunteering in disaster-affected areas, or spending time with family and friends.
