Ann Sanders
Currently retired, Ann spent her career primarily in the public sector and non-profit worlds. She was appointed by former Boston Mayor Raymond L. Flynn to two positions: Executive Director of the Boston Human Rights Commission and Mayor’s Liaison to the LGBT Community. After leaving City Hall, she founded the NewFund (New England Women’s Fund), a non-profit focused on increasing opportunities for girls through sports. Later she taught ESOL for several years.
Ann is a member of her neighborhood association and tutors women who are studying for their GEDs. She also attends many neighborhood meetings with a focus on getting a commitment to the inclusion of ample green space and equitable housing.
She lives in South Boston with her wife.
