Paul Xavier Hogan was born to Marion and William Hogan on September 29,1918 in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. Paul attended Jamaica Plain High School and at the age of 24 Paul entered active duty in the Army Air Corps. Paul served with the 701st Bomb Squadron, 445th Bomb Group, Heavy. Paul was one of nine crew members serving onboard a B-24 Liberator Bomber which departed from England on a bombardment mission to Halle, Germany. While over the target the aircraft sustained damage from enemy aircraft fire and disappeared into an undercast. Paul was killed in action on February 27, 1945, he is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, St Avold, France. Paul was posthumously awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
