Project Goals

Wilshire Apartments is one of two properties renovated in relation to the Wilshire Westminster renovation project. The 29-unit property of which 28 units are 100% project based Section 8, is located at 49-51 Cheney Street in Dorchester. The 28 affordable units and 1 Market rate unit at the property have the following income mix: 25 units at 60% AMI and 3 units at 30% AMI. The building has 19 one-bedroom and 11 two-bedroom units. By renovating the Wilshire Apartments, Urban Edge transformed an apartment in disrepair into a revitalized residential asset which will contribute to the affordable housing production goals of the City and the Commonwealth and doing so in a neighborhood where the demand for affordable housing production is high.
