Project Goals

The Parcel R-1 project, proposed by Asian Community Development Corporation (“ACDC”), will create a mixed-use project housing 110 affordable housing units and the new Chinatown BPL branch. The redevelopment of this former parking lot, in partnership with the Boston Public Library and Boston Planning Department, resulted from the Housing with Public Assets initiative, an innovative new program designed to maximize the use of municipal properties for the public good. The completed project will include a single building housing the new 2-story BPL branch with 66 affordable rental units and 44 affordable homeownership units built above.
