Project Goals

This project is located on the former Boston State Mental Hospital site in Mattapan and is part of a multi-phase development to create over 500 units of housing being led by Lena New Boston LLC. The development project includes the creation of creation of 100 mixed-income rental units in 24 townhouse buildings set back from Harvard Street in Mattapan. Keeping the city affordable is one of the City's key goals; the affordability mix of this project will be 16 rental units at or below 30% AMI, 24 rental units at or below 60% AMI, and 60 market-rate rental units. The project was awarded DND funding in 2016 and Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development for Low Income Housing Tax Credits in 2017. The project is under construction and slated for completion in 2020.
