Project Goals

Nubian Ascends Artist Housing is a fifteen (15) unit mixed-income homeownership development. The project will create homeownership opportunities with a preference for artists. Ten (10) units will available to individuals at or below 80% AMI, and five (5) units will be sold to individuals at market rate. Residents of Nubian Ascends Artist Housing will be prioritized for space or membership at the adjacent Artist Lab. Direct interior access will be from the bicycle storage in the parking garage to the artist housing building. The new construction loft-style building on Harrison Avenue is part of a larger transformational project on the Blair Lot site in Nubian Square (Nubian Ascends).

Nubian Ascends will create an artistic, cultural, and business center in Nubian Square that will provide opportunities for interaction, learning, and job training. The project will transform Nubian Square into a strong commercial and artistic center for the Black community of Roxbury and Boston.
