Project Goals
A 10,788 square foot parcel of vacant, City-owned land located in the Bowdoin-Geneva area of Dorchester.
The Vietnamese American Initiative For Development (VietAID) was designated as the developer for this site, VietAID will combine the City-owned parcel with the abutting privately-owned 21,790 square foot parcel to construct 41 affordable rental units, 46 off-street parking spaces, 6,057 square feet of ground floor retail space, 900 square feet of community meeting space and 3,500 square feet of open plaza.
VietAID was awarded affordable housing subsidy funding from the City of Boston and Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Construction is anticipated to begin by the Fall of 2020.
