Project Goals

There are three parcels of vacant land located at 127-159 Condor Street in the East Boston area totaling approximately 26,250 square feet. DND hosted a community meeting with neighbors and the Eagle Hill Civic Association on February 6, 2017 to discuss the potential development of these parcels. Following the meeting, DND crafted an RFP for artist rental housing units, shared artist workspace, rental units, homeownership units and potential commercial space. The RFP was released on May 8, 2017 and responses were due by July 31, 2017. On October 24th DND held a meeting and invited 3 developers to present their proposals, allowing for questions from the community. In an effort to encourage community feedback, DND had an open comment period until November 15th, 2017.

DND recommended tentatively designating Neighborhood of Affordable Housing, Inc (NOAH) as the Developer for these parcels. Public facilities Commission approved the recommendation and voted on March 14, 2018. The land was conveyed to NOAH by the Public Facilities Commission on December 18, 2019.

Construction for this project began June 23, 2020, and is slated to be completed by the spring of 2021.
