Long Island Facility Preservation Phase I
The City of Boston acting by its Public Facilities Commission, through its Director of the Public Facilities Department (PFD), 2 Center Plaza, 7th Floor, Boston, MA 02108 hereinafter referred to as the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for the PFD – Long Island Facility Preservation Phase I.
The scope of work includes nine (9) of the buildings will be made Safe & Secure and remain unoccupied for the foreseeable future; Fire Station and Garage #2 will remain semi-occupied. Work includes removal and disposal of all combustible and non-combustible loose materials from all buildings per Room-by-Room Inventory provided in the Specifications, (Appendix #2), including abating loose or damaged vinyl flooring tile and sweeping clean all floors. All windows and doors accessible from Grade or fire escapes will be boarded except for a limited number of doors to be replaced with new hardware for maintenance access and egress only. Existing Lighting, Heating & Fire Suppression systems will continue to be maintained by the BPHC.
Plans and Specifications are available electronically only on October 21, 2024, at 9 a.m. upon request submitted to bid.info@boston.gov.
General Bids must be accompanied by a 5% bid bond deposit of the amount bid, DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility (approved in the applicable trade/category of work noted below), and DCAMM Update Statement. *All interested bidders are directed to the bid specifications and plans for full information on any and all requirements applicable to this bid.

All general bids shall be filed with the Awarding Authority at the Bid Counter, 2 Center Plaza, Suite 700 Boston, MA 02108, on or before 12 pm on November 13, 2024, at which time and place respective bids will be opened forthwith and read aloud in person and virtually. A performance bond and labor and materials payment bond satisfactory to the Awarding Authority in the sum of 100% of the contract price will be required of the successful bidder.
Expected contract duration is for 260 days. Prevailing wages shall apply.
Site Visit: Scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 8 a.m.
Special Instructions:
The boat leaves the mainland at 8:00AM sharp from the BPD Drydock Location – South, 9 Terminal St, Boston, MA 02210. Please note there is a parking garage nearby at 12 Drydock Ave, Boston, MA 02210. Please provide a headcount to the Bid Counter 48 hours prior to departure, BPD needs to know the number of people prior boarding to ensure the proper size boat is available. This site visit is weather and tidal dependent, the visit can be cancelled in the morning of due to adverse weather conditions.
