Fields Corner Branch Library

The City of Boston acting by its Public Facilities Commission, through its Director of the Public Facilities Department (PFD), 2 Center Plaza, Suite 700 Boston, MA 02108, hereinafter referred to as the Awarding Authority, hereby invites sealed bids for the Fields Corner Branch Library project.

The scope of work is further detailed in the specifications; the construction of a new 14,790 square foot, two-story building to replace the existing single-story 1960’s era 8,600 square foot library, which will be demolished.

Filed Sub-bids must be accompanied by a 5% bid bond deposit of the amount bid, DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility (approved in the applicable trade/category of work noted below), and DCAMM Update Statement. 

Filed Sub-bid trade(s):  Elevators, Resilient Flooring, Waterproofing/Caulking and Tile.

Per M.G.L. c. 149 § 44D¾, please note PFD has already conducted two rounds of prequalification for the above filed sub-bid trades (Elevators, Resilient Flooring, Waterproofing/Caulking and Tile). Fewer than three subcontractors were prequalified in these categories after two rounds of prequalification. Accordingly, submissions for the above-named sub-trades are open to all subject to the requirements of M.G.L. c. 149 §§ 44B to 44E. All filed sub-bids shall be filed with the Awarding Authority at the Bid Counter, 2 Center Plaza, Suite 700 Boston, MA 02108, on or before 12 pm on November 7, 2024, at which time and place respective bids will be opened forthwith and read aloud in person and virtually. Expected contract duration is for 486 days. Prevailing wages shall apply.

Plans and specifications are only available electronically and by requesting access for such through bid.info@boston.gov and will be available on or about October 21, 2024, at 9 a.m.

Deadline for questions: October 28, 2024 at 2 p.m., QUESTIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER DEADLINE. All questions must be submitted in writing directly to Bid.Info@boston.gov.
