Veterans Services
We recognize, engage, and advocate for our veterans and their families, by connecting them with the services and resources they've earned.
- If you are a veteran or know a veteran having suicidal thoughts, please contact the veterans crisis line.
- Our office is offering mini-grants to qualifying nonprofits that support Boston's veteran community. You can apply online. There is also a statement from the Commissioner on mini-grant information.
- We created a food intake form to help our veterans and their families with food assistance. The City of Boston's Office of Food Access has additional materials and resources to help feed our veterans.
Our department oversees the financial assistance program known as Massachusetts General Law (MGL) Chapter 115. This includes the decoration of veterans' graves and hero squares on Memorial Day. We also carry out commemorative activities related to Boston veterans.
