Boston Harbor Pumpout Services

Vessels operating in Boston Harbor have numerous resources to comply with the EPA’s No-Discharge Area.

Request a Pump Out

The City of Boston offers free holding tank discharge services to vessels operating in the Boston Harbor No-Discharge Area with a 31-foot boat called Head of the Harbor. On-call and scheduled service is available in the summer season (through September 30) on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. There will be increased service during Sail Boston (July 11 - July 17).

The Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM) provides information for boaters across the Commonwealth looking for pumpout services.
