A Message from the Mayor

Boston is a proud, close-knit community — a city not just of neighborhoods, but of neighbors. Whether in triumph or tragedy, celebration or solidarity, we have always stood together. In the wake of an unthinkable act of violence at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013, we found strength in each other. We mourned with families and supported survivors whose lives would never be the same. Each year, in that spirit of community, we’ve come together on One Boston Day to perform acts of kindness to honor those we lost.

This year, we’re inviting non-profits and community groups, businesses, and residents across Boston to share volunteer opportunities in this central location, making it easier than ever to spread the word and sign up. These opportunities will live here on this page, along with an Acts of Kindness Checklist. I hope you’ll sign up to support our communities, and I look forward to joining all of you in service on One Boston Day.

In solidarity,

Signature
