Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility
  • Age: 18 and over
  • Residency: City of Boston
  • Income
    • To be eligible for this program, your household income must be at or below 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for the Boston area. The AMI is a number set by the federal government each year that represents the "middle" income for a given area. The income limit depends on how many people live in your household. The more people in your home, the higher the limit. Here are the current limits for the Boston area:
      • 1 person: $69,480
      • 2 people: $79,440
      • 3 people: $89,340
      • 4 people: $99,240
      • 5 people: $107,220
      • 6 people: $115,140

Selection Process

  • Eligible residents who are 55 or older AND live in one of the City's neighborhoods with the highest food insecurity (Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan, East Boston) will receive 40% of the coupons.
  • Another 30% of coupons will go to eligible applicants of any age who live in a high food insecurity neighborhood.
  •  The remaining 30% of coupons are open to all eligible residents who applied. Those applicants who meet a priority criteria but weren’t chosen for the first 70% of coupon slots are still eligible for a chance at receiving one of these remaining coupons. Every eligible applicant has a chance of receiving coupons.
  • Applicants who were not selected will be placed on a waitlist, and if any coupons become unclaimed or available, they will be offered to waitlisted applicants in the order they were drawn.

FAQ: SELECTION AND COUPON PICKUP

FAQ: SELECTION

If your application was selected, you were notified directly via email and/or text.

After submitting your application, you received a reference number - you need it to check your status:

If you do not have your application reference number please email info@bostonfarmersmarketcoupons.org

No, the enrollment period ended for the entire season on June 28, 2026. Residents will be selected through a lottery to receive coupons or be put on a waitlist. Coupons that are not picked up will then be offered to someone from the waitlist. All coupons will be distributed by August 1, 2026 including to anyone selected from the waitlist.

When you applied, you were given the opportunity to select your preferred pickup location(s). You chose your top three choices. We did our best to give most people their first or second choice. If you were selected to receive coupons, you were notified which location you should pick up your coupons from.

Don’t see one of your top three choices in your notification? We did our best to give everyone a convenient pickup location, but this was not possible for every case due to each site's capacity. Someone else can pick up coupons for you. They just need your reference number, name, phone number and/or email address so information can be verified.
