If you plan to return your ballot in person instead of mailing it, we will have drop boxes available across the City. You have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to drop off your ballot.

You can also drop off your ballot at any early voting location during the City's early voting period.

Vote early in person

What is early voting?

Unlike traditional voting, you don’t have to vote at your assigned polling location. Vote at the location that is most convenient for you. All ballot styles will be available at every early voting location.

All early voting locations are accessible to voters with disabilities. Every location will also have AutoMark machines for voters who need help marking their ballots.

Where to vote

There are a number of early voting sites for the State Primary, including Boston City Hall. If you plan to vote early, you have until 5 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026.

PLEASE NOTE:

If you miss the early voting period, you can still vote on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, between 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. at your assigned polling location.
